Lukey's Baptism and 8th Birthday

Last saturday was Lukey's 8th birthday, and he decided to be baptized on that very day. It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to share it with him and the family. During the talks, and songs, and again during Lukey's baptism, I was embarrassed to realize that I was on the verge of becoming a blubbery tearful mess. I managed to keep it together though. I'm just grateful for the ordinances of the gospel and the wonderful blessing it is, to have families.

After Lukey's baptism, we met up with the Spillers and Grandma and Granddad Ittensohn at Lollipops playground at Springwood, where the kids were able to run amuck and enjoy the play equipment.  Unfortunately things can get a little crazy with so many kids running around, and Lily was knocked at one point and got a bruise under her eye. She was, and is so brave though! She loves to hang out with the boys, running and shouting and laughing: doing what they do. Her bruise has almost disappeared, though occasionally she remembers she has it, points to it, makes a sad face and say "Sore!" If you say something sympathetic or give her a kiss, she brightens up right away and runs off again.

Zak and Lily absolutely love their cousins. Zak is especially close to Lukey, whom he just adores and looks up to. I say that with such emphasis, because Zak just loves him. And what's so nice, is that Lukey loves him back. They are inseparable when they are together. And because we are family, they will have a best mate to grow up with. That makes me pretty happy.
