Taken 22nd March 2010.Zak is four and Lily has just turned two. At the beginning of the year, I started a degree in fine arts (no longer doing this - it just wasn't for me!) And in order to go to school, two days a week, Zak and Lily would go to a nice little place daycare, or "school" as we called it. I took these pictures on either their first or second day. Needless to say, the kids didn't like it very much! It was a struggle to get them motivated and feeling happy about going to "school". I always tried to make it positive, but it was stressful to me and to them. I worried also, because Zak is starting school next year (prep) and I wanted him to get used to not being around me every moment of every day. When I decided to quit my university course, it was a bit of a relief knowing that the kids no longer had to go to daycare and I no longer had to encourage them to go amid a sea of tears and tantrums.
In this last photo Lily was getting sick of me asking her to smile. Even though she's pouting she is just so cute!
